Prada Dimensions Holo Nude Eyeshadow

If anything, Prada has certainly found its niche in the luxury beauty realm. Generally speaking, it's not very often we see unexpected and eccentric color combinations in pigmented formulas in luxury beauty, and so far Prada has given that to us. Now, Prada offers some very basic neutral color stories in their wonderful (or even better ) eyeshadow formula. There are 3 eyeshadow quads and each of them is inspired by Prada's archive prints. We all could use some good neutral eyeshadows but the color stories might not be what you expect. It is a lovely launch, but I do have some mixed thoughts.

Prada Dimensions Holo Nude Eyeshadow 07 Peony ($80, Prada Beauty US)

07 Peony is the lightest and coolest color story. In fact, this might be too light for most. I am quite fair myself but I always need something dark enough to have good dimensions to my eye look. For that, this color story isn't ideal for me. I also think the overall tone should have been cooler because all 3 quads lean quite warm. However, if you love lighter eyeshadows that give you that "barely there" kind of look, you might really enjoy this quad.

With these new eyeshadow quads, Prada introduces a new formula, "duo-toned holographic". The lower right triangle is that shade and it has subtle and sparse silver specs. There is something about these soft colors. For one thing, they feel creamy and so smooth which seems even better than the previous ones. And, I think these might work just fine on deeper skin tones because lighter they may be, I don't see a strong white base in these shades. 

Prada Dimensions Holo Nude Eyeshadow 09 Primula ($85, Sephora)

09 Primula is the deepest color story with strong terracotta tones. The holographic shade in this palette is much more intense and has more presence although the reddish brown and blue shimmer combination isn't very unique (in fact, it is very common in duo-chrome eyeshadows).

Again, the formula is just amazing. So creamy and effortlessly blending out. The colors stay vibrant and true all day long. However, I feel this quad could use a lighter blending shade, which would have made this palette appealing to a wider audience.

Although I think the color stories could be better, these are still exceptionally great-quality eyeshadows. If you like warm neutrals and pigmented eyeshadows that truly perform, you will definitely enjoy these new Holo Nude Eyeshadows from Prada.

For some reason, it is marked $80 on the Prada Beauty US website but $85 at other retailers like Sephora.
