NARS Light Reflecting "With Love" Collection

I used to be a big fan of NARS makeup. I still remember the days when I would collect their cult-favorite blushes and those interesting eyeshadow duos with such excitement. Ever since Shiseido acquired the brand, the color stories have been less inspiring with lots of repeats although it seems to maintain the product quality. I became disinterested in the brand and have not bought from them for at least a couple years now. These recent releases, however, did spark my interest and I ended up purchasing the new eyeshadow sticks and the Light Reflecting (With Love) collection. I am happy to report they are quite awesome and even refreshing that they effectively put NARS back on my radar.

Light Reflecting (With Love) Collection was initially launched as an Asian exclusive about a month ago. I am so glad this collection has made it to North America! These delicate colors are so pretty and the baked gelée formula is a pleasure to work with. All 3 items shown in the photo are made in Italy.

NARS Light Reflecting Prismatic Powder Pressed, Interstellar ($42, Nars)

This is a stunning powder to look at! The name, Interstellar is quite perfect for this gleaming powder with light lavender and peach shade swirled in together. This gorgeous finishing powder adds a bit of coverage while blurring and adding a subtle glow. It brightens up my fair/light complexion quite a bit so I doubt it is a universal shade.

NARS Light Reflecting Quad Eyeshadow, Osaka ($49, Nars)

I thought this soft peachy brown color story looked a bit boring but there is something about it! These are deliciously baked formulas that layer so beautifully over a cream eyeshadow as well.

I wish there was a darker shade for more depth but I still enjoy this quad so much. The topper shade (bottom right) is especially beautiful!

NARS Light Reflecting Blush, Sex Appeal ($49, NARS)

This limited blush is a baked shimmery version of the cult-favorite Sex Appeal (which has a matte finish). 

The color is quite light as the original but the glow in this blush is so so pretty. Super smooth glow that is noticeable yet it does not accentuate the texture. Love it.

To add some depth to my eye look, I based my mobile lids using the new Nars Total Seduction Cream Eyeshadow Stick in Rebellion (a cool deep brown). This is another Nars product I would highly recommend. It is creamy and gives me ample play time but once it's set, it is very long lasting. On my lips, I am wearing Sisley Phyto Lip Twist in Litchi.

Bottom line I love this collection and highly recommend it before it is gone. I hope Nars continues to bring out interesting stuff like this.
