Yves Saint Laurent Beauty has recently expanded their All Hours base makeup range by adding a new compact powder and bronzer. They have updated a classic favorite lipstick, Rouge Volupte Shine, and now it is LoveShine Lip Oil Sticks. I can see the brand is revamping its beauty line and it seems to be headed in the right direction. All these new releases have been pretty great!
YSL All Hours Hyper Finish Powder ($65, Sephora)
There are 7 shades available and I picked up the shade 11. It looks white in the pan but it is supposed to be translucent and can be used on various skin tones. YSL boasts the skin-caring ingredients in this powder for the non-drying effect. It feels indeed very comfortable on the skin despite the visible mattifying and blurring effects. I would say the major effect of this powder is the softly blurred and perfected finish. It is scented with the same fragrance as in the other All Hours base makeup. Although I am not a big fan, it dissipates quickly once you apply the powder to the face. A very solid powder that performs nicely and I see myself packing it on a trip. I am not sure if I will repurchase it, though.
YSL All Hours Hyper Finish Bronzer ($65, Nordstrom)
The bronzer compact has the same exterior but in a brown color. It looks even cuter! Unlike the powder, the pan does not lift up and there is no applicator. It is also unscented. Just like the powder, this bronzer gives the softly blurred yet warmed-up complexion. The powder is extremely finely milled.
I chose the lightest shade, Light Sepia. It is an excellent shade for fair skin with cool undertones. It looks quite light in the pan but the color intensity isn't too different from the lightest options of Victoria Beckham Bronzing Brick and Wayne Goss palette.
YSL LoveShine Lip Oil Stick ($45, Sephora)
This is the updated version of the classic Volute Shine. YSL says this new version has more hydrating with better ingredients, but it feels pretty much the same to me, or at least, I didn't feel a huge difference. I do love the new silver tube.
Blushed Mallow is a slightly muted mauve pink with a hint of brown. Pink Desire is a warm neutral pink with fine pearls.
The formula is very hydrating if not for 24 hours as the claim, but I have to say I still prefer the Candy Glaze which is glossier and has some grip to the lips that gives me better wear. I guess it all comes down to personal preferences. I see many subtle and nuanced shades from the LoveShine range so it might be a great option if you are into those colors.
I hope you find my reviews and swatches helpful! Have you tried these new YSL products?
