I have recently added 3 different base makeup products to my collection - Tom Ford Architecture Soft Matte Foundation, Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Foundation, and Dolce&Gabbana Blueberry Nutri-Tint.
They all have different finishes and levels of coverage so I am not trying to compare the formulas here, but all of them are wonderful options for my makeup routines and have one thing in common - the shade match is excellent!
Dolce&Gabbana Blueberry Nutri-Tint 1n Light ($52, Saks Fifth Avenue)
This is a skin tint with a light coverage and skincare benefits. The finish is slightly dewy and feels very comfortable on the skin yet it sets down nicely without looking greasy. The shade 1n Light is an excellent match for my complexion (around NC 10-15). I have to say it has a nice coverage for a skin tint.
Tom Ford Architecture Soft Matte Blurring Foundation 00 Pearl ($150, Nordstrom)
This is my new favorite foundation for sure! It is expensive but I feel I am getting my money's worth. Tom Ford's Pearl shade is a good match for me but this Pearl shade in this formula is even better for some reason. It is a medium-coverage foundation and sets pretty quickly but I still get enough play time if I prep my skin properly. The blurring effect is amazing and it does last for all day without giving me that mid-afternoon dry sensation.
Les Beiges Healthy Glow Foundation B00 ($65, Chanel)
Technically, this is not a new foundation. The formulation stays unchanged but Chanel recently expanded this range and added more than a few olive shades. My usual Chanel foundation shade is BD01. However, BD01 in this formula is drastically different from other ranges not to mention a terrible match. The new shade B00 is a great match, though! It belongs in the "beige" color group but in reality, this is a nice pale olive that works amazingly well to neutralize the ruddiness in my complexion. Now, I enjoy this foundation much more probably because a great shade match is the single most important factor in determining a good foundation for me!
Hope you find these short reviews and swatches helpful! Have you tried these base makeups?
