SUQQU Summer 2024 "Touch of Nectar" Collection

This year's Suqqu Summer Collection is unusually beautiful and it exceeded my expectations yet again. This collection features vibrant and rather passionate color stories inspired by juicy summer fruits and nectar. There is also a new cream product introduced as a part of this collection.

As usual, I picked up only one side of the color stories (Suqqu always offers both warm and cool tones in each collection), but it is versatile enough that I was able to create 2 different looks.

Suqqu Signature Color Eyes 138 Ryouichigo ($55, Selfridges)

"Ryouichigo" is roughly translated as "cool strawberries" and it is quite aptly named. There is a vibrant strawberry pink shade accompanied by cool berries and neutrals with different textures.

The overall tone of this palette is cool-leaning but not overly so, and that is probably why this color story is so versatile!

I have to say all shades in this quad are very pigmented. I never have issues with Suqqu eyeshadows' pigment level but these have more color payoffs. They still feel creamy and are very easy to blend.

Suqqu Cream Touch Blush & Lip S02 Ichigoame ($39.50, Selfridges)

Ichigoame is a beautiful strawberry red shade. Again, the "strawberry candy" name is perfect for this color! I feel always a bit weary about multi-purpose cream products but the formula is actually excellent. As a blush, it blends out effortlessly, sets down without feeling sticky, does not lift up the powdered base makeup, and is long-lasting. On the lips, it is more of a balmy tint that feels comfortable and looks natural. I might pick up another shade since I love the formula. This new product is permanent and currently, there are 3 shades available. I expect to see more shades down the line.

Suqqu Treatment Wrapping Lip 107 Natsubudou ($31, Selfridges)

This is my first time trying Suqqu's Treatment Wrapping Lip and I find this is another great formula from the brand. Just like the name suggests, it feels very nourishing and hydrating without feeling too heavy or sticky. The limited edition color I chose, Natubudow is a beautiful cool red with a berry undertone. The color is quite pigmented and it wears well considering how emollient the formula is. I am impressed!

As I mentioned, I was able to create 2 different makeup looks with this collection:

In this look, I used all 4 eyeshadows from the Ryouichigo palette. I am wearing the Ichigoame Cream Touch Blush & Lip on my cheeks and lips. 

In the second look, I left out the strawberry pink and used the rest 3 shades to create a cool shimmery smokey look. I wanted something lighter and cooler which would go well with the lip color, so I decided to wear the Harusumire blush.

I love this collection. Another creative and gorgeous color story! And I love these excellent formulas. After all, beautiful colors themselves are not enough for me to really enjoy a makeup collection.
