Dior just added a couple of makeup products for a naturally glowing complexion - Dior Forever Glow Star Filter and Dior Forever Glow Maximizer. I admit that I wasn't really excited about them at first mainly because I am not into liquid highlighter and I have been preferring a clean matte finish for my complexion. But of course, curiosity got me and I ended up trying them. Now I have to say I am quite impressed!
Dior Forever Glow Star Filter ($55, Dior)
I do not have the cult fave Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter but my understanding is this new Forever Glow Star Filter works similarly to the Charlotte Tilbury. You can wear it alone for a natural glowy complexion with light coverage. You can wear this underneath your foundation or mix it with your foundation to alter the finish. You can even use this as a highlighter on top of your foundation.
It is truly a versatile product and more than anything, I was surprised to see it provides really decent coverage. The shade range is quite nice as well corresponding to the existing Dior foundation range. Dior 0N and 0W are excellent matches for my skin tone, so the shade 0 is perfect for me. For something this glowy, the finish is forgiving. It does emphasize my skin texture a tiny bit but not by much (I mean, it looks different from wearing a matte foundation and it is just the nature of the product). It lasts on me all day with no issue although I do not have oily skin and usually don't have longevity issues with my makeup.
Dior Forever Glow Maximizer, Rosy ($45, Dior)
I was only mildly interested because again, I am not so keen on liquid types of makeup in general. The new Dior Forever Glow Maximizer is also a multi-purpose product that can be used as a highlighter, blush, and even eyeshadow. There are 5 shades available and I chose Rosy to see how it works as a blush for me. Pearly and Pink shades would work nicely as highlighter for me but I didn't want to add more to my collection because I already have a beautiful liquid highlighter from Givenchy.
The formula is very easy to control. You can sheer it out or build it up freely and it melds in with the skin seamlessly for a truly natural finish. It also sets down nicely without losing the glowy finish.
Here is a makeup look I created mainly using these two new products from Dior:
I applied a small amount of Dior Forever Skin Correct (0N) in the center of my face and I added 2 pumps of Dior Forever Glow Star Filter (0) using a damp sponge. Dior Forever Glow Maximizer (Rosy) was used both on the eyes and cheeks. I defined my eyes with Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof eyeliner (Bleu Carbone, LE) and filled in my lips using the new Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat shade in 90's Pink then added Dior Lip Maximizer in Frosted Pink.
I am really happy with how it turned out! Both products are awesome. If you like a natural glowy makeup look and simple one-n-done products, you will enjoy them for sure.
