TOM FORD | Valentine's 2024 "Love Collection"

For Valentine's Day 2024, Tom Ford is offering a whimsical, eye-catching makeup collection, "Love Collection". This collection is rather simple and on point consisting of one of the iconic Tom Ford Eye Quads, Honeymoon, a new powder blush shade in their newest formula, and two classic shades of matte lipstick. Everything comes in the gorgeous red limited edition packaging and with these cute heart embossing.

I already own Honeymoon but I could not pass up this special edition so I purchased the eye quad, the blush, and one matte lipstick shade in 100 100.

As I mentioned, this special edition packaging is really gorgeous. The overall finish is matte but the outer rims have a gloss finish. They also come in red sleeves.

Tom Ford Love Eye Color Quad Honeymoon ($95, Nordstrom)

I personally think Honeymoon is one of the best Tom Ford Eye Quads. There was a time I tried to distance myself from all things warm-toned, but even then, I gravitated toward this gorgeous palette and have enjoyed it ever since. Now it is even more special in this packaging with the heart embossment. Tom Ford seems to know how to take my money.

The new Love quad has the same great quality. All shades are smooth, pigmented, and blend easily. The colors stay true for many hours even when I don't use any primer. 

I would describe these colors as warm jewel tones. So beautiful! These are dry swatches and while I almost never wet my eyeshadows, there really isn't the need.

And, I had to make this side-by-side comparison swatch because there seem to be some opinions that the new quad is inferior to the old one. I completely disagree! My old Honeymoon is from around 2020 and can you tell which one is which? I see a slight difference in a few colors but there is no meaningful difference and those more pigmented shades are actually from the new quad. More importantly, I don't see any variance in performance or longevity, and I usually notice these things. I am definitely not saying you should buy the new one even if you already own Honeymoon, but fear not and treat yourself with this special quad if the Honeymoon color story appeals to you.

Tom Ford Love Powder Blush Love Scene ($79, Selfridges)

On the US retailers' websites, the name is marked "Love Scene" but on Selfridges, it says "Sundrink". I can confirm it is the same shade. The UK price is much better so if you have a Selfridges Global + shipping subscription, do take advantage of that.

This is a new powder blush formula in a baked consistency. I like the Shade & Illuminate blush formula as well but prefer this new one. There is no powder kickups and the color melds in with my skin seamlessly. The Love Scene shade is a beautiful peach color with some interesting undertones. It is a youthful peach with some clarity yet there is a drop of mauve in the color. The finish is luminous matte. I do think the US price is ridiculous but it is a beautiful blush with flawless quality.

Tom Ford Love Lip Color Matte 100 100 ($62, Nordstrom)

This is my first Tom Ford matte lipstick and it does not disappoint. It is a classic matte formula that goes on smoothly without drying my lips too much, and this cool medium brown shade really shines (well, figuratively) in this formula. I don't wear brown lip colors often but love this one.

More than anything, I love that I can get a really beautiful cohesive look from this collection. I appreciate it when couture brands put different colors together and suggest a complete look in the form of a seasonal collection. Tom Ford "Love Collection" is indeed all-around lovely maybe except for the price.
