Chanel has recently brought out 2 very beautiful highlighters and I wanted to show them together in this post. These are 2 separate launches - Les Symboles de Chanel & Sublimage Le Concentré de Lumière.
Les Symboles de Chanel Oversized Highlighting Powders were launched earlier this year in Asia. Here in the U.S., this collection is a part of Chanel Holiday 2023 makeup offerings. There are 5 symbols of the house of Chanel - Le Lion, La Comète, Les Perlers, Les Chaînes, and Camélia. There are 3 different shades of oversized highlighters (Pearly White, Warm Gold, and Precious Coral) created in each design.
Le Concentré de Lumière is the newest addition to the prestigious Sublimage line. It is a gorgeous liquid highlighter with skincare benefits and it comes with a dainty fan brush for application.
Les Symboles de Chanel La Comète - Precious Coral ($95, Chanel)
I also expected the Precious Coral shade would make a beautiful blush color on my fair to light complexion and it does exactly that. The finish is actually more subtle than some of those shimmery blushes I have. It is smooth and refined. The color is a fresh and luminous coral. So pretty!!
Sublimage Le Concentré de Lumière ($95, Nordstrom)
If you're not familiar, Sublimage is Chanel's most prestigious skincare line and there are a handful of hybrid makeup items with these skincare benefits. These are usually base makeup such as foundation and concealer, and this time a liquid highlighter was added to the line.
Personally, I am a bit skeptical about getting meaningful skincare benefits from makeup items so that was not the reason I bought this. I was more drawn to the beautiful shade and the finish itself. This is a gorgeous peachy gold highlighter in a light gel texture.
Comapred to the Precious Coral shade, Sublimage Le Concentré de Lumière has a more sparkly finish, but it is not over the top and very tastefully done, in my opinion. It feels weightless and hydrating on the skin and blends out very easily.
The mini fan brush is adorable and works surprisingly well to apply this liquid highlighter. The liquid formula works for multiple purposes - it can be worn under or over foundation, and can be mixed with foundation as well. I am most excited about mixing it with foundation for subtle glimmers for this holiday season!
I have compared Sublimage Le Concentré de Lumière with Chanel Les Beiges Highlighting Fluid in Sunkissed shade. To my eyes, the colors and the finishes are quite different as you can see in the photo. Both are versatile and can be used for different things, though.
Two very different, but excellent new additions to the Chanel lineups. They are perfect for this upcoming holiday season but also easy to incorporate into my daily makeup routines. I am quite happy with both.
