The much-anticipated Chanel Holiday 2023 Makeup Collection is finally available online at Chanel.com and some other retailers (available here)!
The theme of this year's collection is "Roaring Twenties" and features classic hues with some glitzy finishes. I was lucky to have purchased the collection a few weeks ago from a Chanel boutique and had some time to play with the items. It is a gorgeous very well-executed collection and I would highly recommend checking them out. Read on for my swatches, thoughts, and makeup looks.
Lumière Graphique Eyeshadow Palette ($88, Chanel)
There is no matte shade in the mix but these neutral colors are very easy to use and have sophisticated satin and shimmery finishes plus one glittery top coat. They are pressed powder formulas and feel quite soft and pigmented.
The color story did remind me of the holiday eye quad from a few years ago, so I made a comparison here. The colors sure look similar but unlike the No.5 quad (which I disliked quite a bit), the new eye quint is much better quality and easier to use. The medium tone in the quint makes it a lot easier to create different looks.
Duo Lumière Illuminating Powder Duo ($70, Chanel)
Another beauty in this collection is this highlighting powder duo. Now, this is a sparkly one and I admit it might be not for everyone but it is rather perfect for the holiday.
While it has a sparkly finish, the base of these colors feels creamy and almost wet to the touch. The pinky champagne shade works as a very light blush shade on my complexion and I can easily mix these two colors together.
Rouge Allure Laque Golden Beige ($45, Chanel)
There are two limited edition Rouge Allure Laque shades offered in this collection and I picked up the Golden Beige color.
It is literally a "golden beige" shade with some metallic shimmers and peachy undertones. A gorgeous color that goes well with the eye quint!
Rouge Allure L'Extrait ($58, Chanel)
There are 2 limited and 2 repromoted Rouge Allure L'Extrait lipsticks in this collection. I already own 2 of the repromoted shades so initially, I did not order any lipstick. Then, I saw how gorgeous the limited edition color, Midnight Red was and made an additional order as well as the White Silk Le Vernis.
Here are the swatches of the lip colors. Midnight Red is an amazing berry red with a metallic finish. Oh, and the LE lipsticks come in special packaging with gold rims.
Le Vernis Tuxedo, White Silk ($32, Chanel)
Tuxedo is a bronzy champagne with lots of shimmers and glitters. It is quite pigmented and due to the finish, one coat looks more flattering. Beautiful festive shade.
