Dior does not say it is a "pre-holiday" collection per se but for the past couple of years, Dior has brought out interim collections (usually "Miss Dior" themed) between fall and holiday collections. This year, it is the Miss Dior Blooming Boudoir collection, and the Red Bloom Lip Glow I picked up is a part of it. The blooming Boudoir collection has this gorgeous floral packaging but the color story did not appeal to me, so I didn't pick up anything else.
The gorgeous limited edition Rouge Blush 290 Signature surprisingly made it to the U.S. although it was initially meant to be Japan Isetan exclusive. I was able to snatch it when it was available but just like in Japan, it sold out on the first day.
The new Backstage Eye Palette Silver Essentials is actually a part of the Dior Holiday 2023 collection and features some delicious cool-toned colors.
Dior Rouge Blush 290 Signature ($45, Dior)
I personally think Dior does pink best and this blush is a fine example. It has a beautiful lavender base and very fine blue shimmers that yield iridescent shifts. Just gorgeous!
The color and the finish is something that is popular in the Asian market so it made sense when this blush sold out in the first hour of launch in Japan Isetan. I wondered how it would do in the U.S. market because sheer and shimmery stuff doesn't always get received well over here. But I guess this market was thirsty for something like this as well since it sold out very quickly. I hope Dior restocks this one. It is just so unique and beautiful!
It is a very light shade so it doesn't make a ton of contrast to my skin but I would say it is well pigmented. I can see the lavender base shade on my cheeks and it isn't all that sheer, either. The blue shift is very noticeable and pretty. I thought it might be glittery but it is more of a beautiful sheen. Perfection!
Dior Backstage Eye Palette 011 Silver Essentials ($52, Dior)
I own two Backstage Eye Palettes (Cool Neutrals and Bronze Neutrals) and usually take them with me on trips. I have not purchased any new Backstage palettes for at least a few years since the formula isn't my favorite (they are great basic, though). Dior has recently reformulated this and the color story of Silver Essentials was just irresistible so now I own 3 of them.
Some feel creamier than others but I think the overall quality is quite awesome, especially for cool pastel shades like these.
Compared to the old formulas, I think the new one feels softer and more pigmented. Blending is very easy with these colors. If you like cool-toned shades, I would highly recommend Silver Essentials!
Dior Lip Glow 059 Red Bloom ($40, Dior)
Now Dior offers so many beautiful wearable shades in this comfortable lip-caring formulation. I think Red Bloom might be my favorite. It is a beautiful sheer red with a slightly cool undertone. Very easy to wear and great to layer with my other red lip colors.
I have created a makeup look using these 3 items:
Overall, beautiful stuff with great quality. I would recommend all of them if you love cool-toned colors whether it's for the holiday or not.
