Douceur D'Équinoxe 798 Beige Rosé et Mauve ($65, Chanel)
This blush is the star piece of the collection, in my opinion. I picked up the mauve shade and it has such a gorgeous nuance to the color. The idea of these blushes is to mix two colors and create a harmonized blush shade, and I think the dusty mauve and beige rose work so beautifully together.
Very much in tune with the autumnal theme, this blush is embossed with amazing leafy details. The CC logo part is not an overspray but is embedded in the blush so you can enjoy the "harmonizing effect" in the long run.
This is a soft powder formulation and quite pigmented. There is a slight radiance to the finish but mostly, it is a soft matte finish that gives a great blurring effect to the skin. It is very easy to control the color intensity and works well with most of my blush brushes.
Ombre Première Libre ($40, Chanel)
When I swatched these colors on my arm, they kind of looked like dirt and I did not see the true beauty of these shades. The texture is quite dusty and light and there is plenty of pigment.
But once you blend them on the skin, the gorgeous colors come to life! They become creamy and adhere to the skin so closely. Once applied properly, there is no fallout and the color lasts for many hours without fading. Quite impressive!
Sycomore (402) is a satin beige with a slightly warm undertone. Bois D'Amarante (412) is a reddish purple with a soft matte finish. Mûrier Noir (414) is a very cool-toned dark mulberry. I love that all these shades have the names of different trees.
Rouge Coco Bloom 154 Kind ($45, Chanel)
Honestly, Rouge Coco Bloom is not my favorite lipstick formula from Chanel. I don't mind lighter colors in this but brighter colors can be messy and high-maintenance since the base is very emollient and it packs a lot of pigment.
Le Vernis 165 Bois de Îles ($32, Chanel)
Bois de Îles is a moody brownish red that is perfect for autumn if not super unique. I love the name of this polish because I happen to know this is the name of the classic Chanel fragrance created in the 1920s. This was reincarnated in 2015 and is available in the Les Exclusifs line. As a Chanel lover, I like seeing little connections like this.
I still dearly miss the old Le Vernis formula but this isn't half bad. A bit on the thicker side but it applies smoothly with no issue. It is a one-coater for me.
Here, I have created a moody mauve/purple makeup look with Équinoxe de Chanel Collection:
Because the new lip color is a bit out of place, I wore Rouge Coco Mademoiselle. This is such a beautiful mauvy nude and I love this classic formula. I don't know why Chanel doesn't promote this lipstick line.
Supposedly, it is a very limited collection and in fact, the blushes sold out at Nordstrom online on the same day it launched. They are still available at Chanel and Bloomingdale's as I am writing this post.
I hope you find my reviews and swatches helpful. I personally love this collection. The elegant autumnal theme was very well executed, in my opinion.
