A few weeks ago, I made a small haul from Ulta. I bought mostly drugstore stuff from the brands I have been curious about for quite some time. I didn't know there would be a big sale event from Ulta. Apparently, Ulta will have different flier items at 50% off every day for 21 days! If I had known, I would have waited a bit because I see some of my favorites from the list. Anyway, I wanted to quickly talk about what I got from my recent Ulta haul.
I got a couple products from Ordinary. I got their famous Serum Foundation and the Hyaluronic Serum.
I still want to test a few more times but I am afraid the foundation is a fail for me. First of all, I think I chose the wrong shade - I got the 1.0 NS. This is a fair neutral shade with silver highlights, according to the description. The color itself is okay, but the "silver highlights" don't play very well on me. It kinda looks unnatural and I definitely see I have some "tin man" moment..?! I am not a big fan of the runny consistency, either.
On the other hand, I am liking the Hyaluronic serum. I wanted an inexpensive oil-free serum that I can apply under ZIIP conductive gel. The idea is to reduce the amount of gel by adding something underneath (because the gel is very expensive...). I have seen a few YouTubers doing this. I don't think I am saving it too much. Maybe I am using 1 pump less? Anyway, layering some skin-benefiting serum wouldn't be a bad idea although I always wash everything after my ZIIP session.
Next, I have a foundation stick and a blush palette from Makeup Revolution. I think Fast Base foundation stick works very nicely as a concealer. The coverage is phenomenal and I love the consistency. The shade F2 is a great match for me.
This is the Vintage Lace Blush Palette. Isn't it so gorgeous and so huge? I didn't know how big this palette was. Honestly, I am not a big fan of a large palette of anything..but I think these embossings are so pretty. There are some oversprays but it's not very noticeable on the skin. The colors are quite pretty, covering all your blush needs - There are light cool pink, deeper pink, rosewood, and some plum.I also picked up a 5 In A Box mini eyeshadow palette from Catrice and I LOVE this eyeshadow palette! For $6, I think it is amazing!! It looks like this one is sold out on Ulta but you can find it from the Catrice website. The palette I got is Modern Smoky Look. I love the sophisticated color combo with the dusty blue and taupe. The colors are pigmented and blend well. I think this is even better than Natasha Denona minis.
