Givenchy Prisme Libre Blush 01 Mousseline Lilas

I picked up Givenchy Prisme Libre Blush ($47, Harrods) in Mousseline Lilas from the duty-free store on my way back home. I did not know this new and coveted Prisme Libre Blush wasn't available in the U.S. It is still unavailable (currently, Harrods seems the only place where you can find them at a good price. That is, of course, if you're willing to pay for the express shipping. The U.K. prices on couture makeup are usually much better than the U.S., though).

If you like Givenchy Prisme Libre Powder ($58, Nordstrom), you will probably love this one as well. The blush powder is so fine in texture and the pigments are pure. The concept of mixing 4 different yet similar colors might be a little gimmicky to some people but it does seem to create a realistic flush of color without looking flat. Quite impressive when you consider the finish is completely matte!

01 Mousseline Lilas is a very cool-toned pink with great clarity. It is not one of those pale pinks with lots of white mixed in. The shade is vivid and bright and color-wise, it kind of reminds me of Dior Backstage Rosy Glow Blush in Pink or NARS Powder Blush in Gaiety.

The finish is what makes this blush so unique. The superior blurring effect is nothing like I've experienced so far. I used to enjoy some loose mineral blushes back in the days but Givenchy Prisme Libre Blush has a much finer texture and finish. It is also super pigmented that you would need a tiny bit. I used the small puff included for this swatch to show you the color clearly, but it would be much easier to control the color intensity if you use a brush.

Here is an overall look:

When I posted these photos on Instagram, someone asked me that if the color deepens and gets redder over time. I did not experience that although I did apply the color over well-powdered skin.

I didn't expect too much but ended up loving it. After all, it might be worth hauling from overseas but I do hope this lovely blush will become available in the U.S. soon.

What do you think of this new blush collection from Givenchy? Are you planning to pick one up for yourself?
