Chanel does a great job creating opulent and ogle-worthy holiday makeup collections and this year is not an exception. I still think the last year's collection was better (the gorgeous eyeshadow quad and the highlighter are still available) but I find Les Chaînes D'Or de Chanel collection is quite beautiful. Let me show you some swatches and makeup looks with them!
Illuminating Blush Powder
Ombre Premiére 927 Cuivre Rose
From the pan, Cuivre Rose looks very similar to the Illuminating Blush Powder so I initially hesitated about getting both. Turns out these two are different animals in terms of both formulation and colors (well, duh). They do coordinate beautifully together, though! The eyeshadow has bigger shimmers so the color appears almost duo chromatic. This is a gorgeous one-and-done shade for me.
(Seriously though, swatching these two took some courage.)
Rouge Allure Luminous Intense 137 Pourpre D'Or
I was a bit sour about the fact I had to pay $7 more for the special lipstick case with gold trims, but all is forgiven because Pourpre D'Or is gorgeous. The bullet color may look scary being quite dark but the actual color is a flattering berry red with a subtle shimmer. I love it.
Now, let me show you a few overall looks with this beautiful collection.
Makeup items used for this look:
Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Foundation BD01 ($60, Bergdorf Goodman)
Chanel Les Chaînes D'Or Illuminating Blush Powder ($70, Chanel)
Chanel Ombre Premiére 927 Cuivre Rose ($36, Chanel)
Chanel Rouge Allure 137 Pourpre D'Or ($45, Chanel)
Chanel Boy de Chanel 3-in-1 Eye Pencil Black ($34, Chanel)
Chanel Stylo Yeux Noir Intense ($33, Chanel)
I picked these up back in October and have been reaching for them often. The luxurious chain embossings and packaging adorned with gold aside, these are sophisticated and easy-to-wear shades that will be loved beyond the holidays. I would highly recommend the collection!
Thanks for being here. Have you picked up any holiday makeup collection this year?
