I got excited when I heard about L'Oreal Colour Riche Shine Lipsticks although I haven't bought many drugstore lippies lately. Believe it or not, Colour Riche Balm is one of the very few lip stuff that I actually used up and repurchased. This is a nice dupe of Yves Saint Laurent Candy Volupté but unlike the YSL it comes in a very flimsy case that cracks over time. The new Shine Lipstick range seemed like an amplified version of the Balm range and the lipstick case looked sturdy and even pretty. I had to try a few for myself.
Glazed Pink (914) & Polished Tango (918)
(Obviously, it was too late when I found that I had placed the lipstick tubes upside down.)
Glazed Pink is a cool toned light pink with some shimmer and Polished Tango is a blushed medium pink.
Glazed Pink
Polished Tango
I thought Glazed Pink would be more flattering on me but it is very pale and kind of washes me out. Because of its strong white base, it can look a little patchy as you see from the swatch photo. Polished Tango, on the other hand, is a very wearable neutral pink that would look nice on most complexions.
The formulation is rather impressive. It feels smooth and hydrating on and provides enough color and shine. Not a long-lasting formula, but it is excellent for what it is. I'd say it even reminds me of higher ends such as Chanel Rouge Coco Shine or Dior Addict. The lipstick case is a big improvement as well although not as luxurious as I anticipated (Note that I am spoiled by Korean and Japanese drugstore stuff).
Here are a few overall looks.

Glazed Pink looks much better and applies evenly over a mauve lipliner like Rimmel Eastend Snob. Then again, Eastend Snob makes everything better.

Bottom line an excellent drugstore lip range if you are looking for glossy colors with comfort. I might get a couple more shades for myself.
Have you tried L'Oreal Colour Riche Shine Lipsticks ($7.99 at target.com)? How do you like them?
