I briefly shared this look on Instagram a few weeks ago. For some reason, I think I love certain eyeshadow palettes yet hardly reach for them. Dior 5 Couleur Bar (056) (discontinued, but this one looks similar) is one of them. It is a great quality palette with a brilliant cool/neutral color combo and seriously needs to be appreciated more.
I was going for a daytime smokey look and used the grey of the palette as the main color. And, by default, I chose coral/peachy shades for my cheeks and lips. I think they complement and balance out the cool toned eyeshadow colors.
- I mixed NYX Pro Foundation Mixer with Paul & Joe Silky Smooth Foundation to add a bit of glow to the finish. It was still on the matte side so I didn't use any setting powder.
- It's weird that I keep reaching for the Rouge Bunny Rouge Pristine Light* because I had an issue with the applicator and thought the formulation was a bit thick for me to love. It does work very nicely with my Chanel and Dior palettes, though.
- From Dior Bar, I used the shimmery grey (top left) on the mobile lids and the taupe (middle) on the creases. The black color (bottom right) was used on the outer v's and on the lower lash lines to define, but this one is quite sheer that I think I need a more pigmented one in my life.
- MAC Modern Twist Kajal is my current go-to eyeliner.
- I must say Tatcha Lip Tint Oil in Kyoto Red is a big disappointment. It is very moisturizing and tender on the lips but I honestly expected something amazing from a $35 lip oil. I don't think the color is all that flattering on me, either. (It's a shame because I do love the Kyoto Red Lipstick!)
- To complement the lip color, I chose NARS Orgasm.
- Not pictured, but I used L'Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black waterproof mascara and Lash Paradise waterproof mascara on my lashes.
This is the picture I shared on Instagram. I was having a bad hair day but was happy with how the makeup turned out.
Hope you enjoyed this look post. Wish you a nice rest of the week!
