Indes Galantes is another stunning duo from the NARS Sarah Moon collection (late 2016). I love the other duo in the collection, Quai des Brumes so much and use it frequently (reviewed here). I knew that Indes Galantes wouldn't be as easy to pull off but had to get it because the color combination looked so interesting.
Indes Galantes is a dark smokey duo with a shimmering steel gray and a matte burgundy. Both shades are packed with pigment and require a light hand and a good blending brush such as MAC 217 (I've become a huge fan of this one and can't stop using it, by the way.).
Despite a few fallouts, both colors feel rich and almost creamy to touch. I don't think these colors work very well with a sticky primer that catches too much pigment, though. Among my eyeshadow primers, MAC Prep + Prime Eye Base works best thanks to its thin slippery finish.
I wear this duo in two different ways - applying the gray on the mobile lids then the burgundy around the crease lines, or vice versa. The end results are neither gray nor burgundy because I blend these colors to death. It's always shimmery dark something with an extra edge. I kind of love it.
Unlike the Quai des Brumes, Indes Galantes is still available at a quite affordable price. It's worth a look if you're into moody smokey eyes and looking for something a bit different.
Hope you enjoyed this short post. Wish you a beautiful weekend!
