Pat McGrath has brought out 3 new eyeshadow palettes this spring - Platinum Bronze, Bronze Ambition, and La Vie en Rose. Each is like a concise version of her MOTHERSHIP eyeshadow palettes but looks somewhat tame. Which is a good thing for someone like me, because I find the original MOTHERSHIPs too big and bold to incorporate into daily looks. I picked up Platinum Bronze without hesitation. I haven't had enough time to play with it, but I wanted to quickly show the swatches and share my initial thoughts with you.
MTHRSHP Subliminal Platinum Bronze Palette comes in a thick cardboard case with beautiful illustrations. It has a magnetic flap plus pull-closure. There is a nice size mirror inside, too. I personally wish it was slimmer and smaller, but it does feel sturdy and well-made.
The pans are covered with a plastic film that has each shade's name printed on (which I placed upside down in this photo).
Color composition of Platinum Bronze is awesome. All shades are complex and sophisticated. I like that the overall tone is quite neutral with all easily wearable colors. I also love that this palette covers light to dark and includes at least one matte.
Swatching these colors was pleasurable. Every color feels rich and smooth. I will have to play more with it to determine whether they are too soft for my taste or not. I have a feeling that this particular formulation might require certain types of brushes, but at least I can tell these colors blend beautifully and last for many hours.
I plan to do a separate look post as I see Platinum Bronze can offer more than a few possibilities.
MTHRSHP Subliminal Platinum Bronze ($55) is currently available on Pat McGrath website and Sephora.
Hope you find these swatches helpful. What do you think of this palette? Are you planning to pick one up from the new offerings?
