Turns out they are quite nice if not worth gushing over, and I repent that I did not review them sooner.
(Seriously, I need to do something about my queue that is getting bigger and bigger, or rather about my procrastination.)
Make Up For Ever
Smoky Extravagant & Rouge Artist Natural (N9)
Sephora Beauty Insider Birthday Set
Smoky Extravagant is "a single mascara with extravagant volume and up close precision" according to Make Up For Ever.
The brush is actually huge and even reminds me of a fat caterpillar. ;o
The mascara formula is ideal being neither too thin nor too thick, and the black color is quite intense.
Smoky Extravagant indeed lengthens and builds big lashes quickly without clumping, but just like any other mascara with regular formula, it uncurls my eyelashes right away.
However, it would be a great option if you have naturally curly lashes.
I have not experienced any smudging or flaking.
Make Up For Ever Rouge Artist Natural is a "moisturizing, soft shine lipstick".
N9 is described as a "Copper Pink".
N9 looks like a medium brown with warm red undertones, which is not a color that I would personally choose. This is a flattering office-appropriate color for many (and seems like a best seller since Sephora does not have it in stock), but it does not suit my lip color preference that leans strongly towards cool pinks and berries.
The texture is lovely and it glides on effortlessly.
The color is sheer yet buildable.
Applied on the lips, it looks a bit more flattering since the pinkish hue is more pronounced.
Rouge Artist Natural feels incredibly light and comfortable on. It also keeps my lips moisturized for a long time.
Unfortunately, it has an old school lipstick smell to it. Nothing I couldn't bear, but I would have been much happier without it.
Overall look with Smoky Extravagant and Rouge Artist Natural N9
I am actually glad that I (decided to clean my vanity and) got to experience them.
The superior lipstick formula particularly interests me, and I would certainly consider this range in the future since Make Up For Ever offers whopping 50 shades.
Rouge Artist Natural is comparable to MAC Lustre lipstick, but it feels much more comfortable on lips and the pigmentations seem clearer as well.
